Jonathan Vellner
About:
Jonathan Vellner
Jonathan Vellner is an acrobat’s acrobat. A former national team aerial skier and Cirque du Soleil alumni, Jonathan has played at the highest level of acrobatic performance both competitively and professionally.
During his time with Cirque du Soleil, Jonathan developed many new tricks and sequences to revamp the classic show Mystère, and was the first to bring off-axis freestyle tricks to the teeterboard. Known for his inventiveness and ability to blend styles, he was often involved in the creation of special events where original sequences and characters need to be designed quickly.
Jonathan has since traded the Las Vegas stage for the big screen, where he continues to expand on and creatively apply his acrobatic and performance knowledge, now with a focus on elevating action story-telling.
When he’s not busy landing on his head, Jonathan is a lifelong student and teacher, not just of movement, but of music and language as well. He believes everyone should explore their full technical and creative potential and is happiest when he is helping others do the same.
